![]() Character Information: Name: Hermaphroditos (please, call me Dita) Age: 20 Gender: Male-to-female transsexual Birthplace: Olympia City Current Residence: Olympia City, Dorm room Occupation: University student Personality: Hermaphroditos is unsure of herself, something that affects most aspects of her personality. She is rarely assertive, reserved, soft-spoken and shy. Shy only in her reactions to her environment and the people who drift through it, for she’s actually a very social being. She seeks out companionship without thought, oftentimes striking up conversation with strangers on the bus or waiting in line just for some sense of connection to the world. Her shyness shows in the way she drops her chin and covers her mouth when she laughs, in the way she’s unsure of how to take a compliment and the way she blushes uncontrollably at all the worst times. Hermaphroditos has spent so long unable to fully connect with another that her longing drives her often to poor decisions in company. She’ll give anyone a chance, sometimes overextending herself for another so much so that it drains her. She longs and longs day in and day out for that one who is meant for her. She is, in essence, a hopeless romantic. Hermaphroditos is slow to judge, generally optimistic sparing her short spells of depression and a lover of the small, bittersweet things in life. She prefers to experience her loves first hand; she’ll run out into the rain and eat all the sweets she can allow herself. She is tactile (she’ll always clutch a stuffed animal to her breast in the loneliness of her bed) and a chronic people-watcher, prone to observing a stranger from afar before gathering up the courage to approach him or her, even waiting weeks in some cases. Her people-watching extends to her love of photography and her acquaintances and friends are often subject to her candid photographs. She’s also very likely to devour any books left in her general vicinity. Biography: Hermaphroditos was born into a middle class family, an only child with a relatively uneventful childhood that was happy and devoid of incident save for her penchant for clumsiness that often landed her at the doctor’s office. Her friends flitted in and out of her life, moving away or growing apart. The vast majority of her friends in youth were girls that Hermaphrodite approached out of the blue and asked oh so eloquently: “Want to be my friend?” Nevertheless, her heart of gold and quiet charm endeared friends to her almost flawlessly. She was her mother’s daughter and spent most of her time attached to her mother’s skirts, which was all well and good except that maybe she was too interested in emulating her mother, especially because she was born biologically male. Her soft features and her mother not having the heart to cut her hair when she was so fond of it allowed her to be oftentimes mistaken for a girl, which for some reason never hurt her feelings. Of course, puberty disrupted all this as it is apt to do. Following nature she found herself time and again attracted to her best friends (who were always girls) and she went through her stage of sexual experimentation. Something never quite felt right, yet she ignored it for all of her teenage years until she could ignore it no longer. Following an unfathomable spell of depression that was entirely out of order for her bright personality, her parents agreed to allow her to start seeing the family psychologist. After many visits her psychologist suggested a concept that changed her life. After thorough research she decided that she must be suffering Gender Dysphoria as her psychologist had suspected. As she never kept anything from her mother, she confided in her and expressed that she simply could not suffer one more day as a farce of a boy. Her mother couldn’t handle it and blamed herself. Hermaphroditos grew away from her parents and spent months on end sleeping over various friends houses until it broke her mother’s heart and her father finally buckled and requested she come back home. They chose to adapt to keep their son, who set out right at once to begin her year presenting as a woman under her psychologist’s close watch. After a year deferred from college, Hermaphroditos applied for a single room at the University of Olympia and began her dorm life along with her journey into a whole new world, reborn as a transsexual and working towards her final transformation into a real girl. |
